Habitat Build

Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio is celebrating its 50-year anniversary of building affordable homes. Did you know the first Habitat home was built is San Antonio in 1976! To date, Habitat SA has built 1487 homes in our community. These homes come with a monthly payment as low as $900.00 which includes taxes and interest. This year Habitat SA is celebrating Pope Leo’s installation by dedicating 6 homes in the new Melody Lane community as the “Pope Leo Village”. The Presbyterian Cluster of Churches has been selected to help sponsor and build one of these homes.
Once again San Pedro church is joining with 15 of our sister Presbyterian churches in San Antonio to sponsor and build a new Habitat home. This will be the 31st home sponsored by the Presbyterian Cluster. This year’s build starts on Friday, February 6th and continues every Friday and Saturday through March 28th. We will need 10-15 volunteers each workday to help us build the home. I have designated Saturday, February 21st as San Pedro Day at the worksite! Habitat is reserving 10 volunteer slots for our church on that day. We need your help.
I have placed copies of the Habitat information package along with the sign-up link at the Missions desk. Please stop by and pick up a copy and be sure to sign up to help support this important ministry.
For more information, contact Gene Trevino through the office or stop by the missions desk on Sunday.
